My little helper & Raelynn vs the ball

Lilly has recently started to ask if she can help me when I cook dinner.  And of course I cringe a little when it’s a messy meal but it’s still really fun!

Lilly helped me roll out dough..she was really good at it!!  Now every time we cook she asks if she can use the “steam roller”

Stirring brownie batter

Now here’s the epic battle between Raelynn and the ball.  I’m not sure why she likes it so much because she gets so frustrated with it when it rolls away.  Maybe she’s like her sissy and loves the color “PANK” (insert cheesy southern accent here).

I love seeing those little chubby feet holding the ball, it cracks me up

Loosing it…

IMG_8679

Uh oh it’s gone

IMG_8680

Oh wait there’s a camera, time to be a ham!

Mmmm shoes!

And the ball is back! Yup that is really the natural progression of the photos. I think Lilly may have brought her the ball back.

Fall Fest

A couple of weeks ago Lilly’s school had fall fest (yes I’m behind on my blogging I know), it was on a Thursday and Lilly normally goes to school on Wednesdays but this week we traded her day so she could take part in the festivities.  Take a look at some of the pictures of Lilly playing!

In the tunnel

IMG_8582

Oh and out of the tunnel

IMG_8593

The ball pit was fun until it ran out of balls..gotta love 30+ toddlers in one room!

IMG_8599

I told her to carry the (plastic) egg on the spoon.  Well she did it, but she held the egg in place with her other hand. I guess she got me on a technicality.

Making lots of noise, as if it wasn’t loud enough let’s add noise making instruments!  Preschool teachers are probably the bravest people ever!

IMG_8641

I don’t think this is the intended purpose of this tunnel but Lilly thought it was hilarious!

I have at least 20 pictures of Lilly posing with the scarecrow, she kept asking me to take more pictures..silly girl!

Trick or Treating 2011

Better late than never, I seem to have gotten behind on my blogging lately.  I’ll blame it on a very cute peasant dress pattern…I’ll post pictures of that later, let’s just say that my girls will be precious and matching on Thanksgiving.

Ok back to Halloween, I chose the girls costume this year.  Mainly because this will probably be the last year that Lilly will just go with the flow and not demand to be a princess or Tigger.  I decided the girls would look really cute as Dr. Seuss’ Thing 1 and Thing 2.  Mike and I have been calling them that for a couple of months now and Lilly loves to read all of the Dr Seuss books.  She can almost recite all of Put me in the Zoo.  I’m very proud of myself for making their entire costume, the only thing I wasn’t able to do was decorate the wagon and that’s due to a procrastinating husband (whom I love dearly even if he does everything at the last minute!).   Take a look at my cute little things :)

Dress rehearsal, we were just checking to make sure everything fit the day before Halloween

Mimi came to our house to hand out candy while we went trick or treating.

IMG_8410

Well it’s a cute picture of her side..I have no clue what she’s looking at

IMG_8419

I know what your are thinking, “where’s the blue hair?”  Well this is the girly version of thing 1 and thing 2, plus there is no way I’m putting a wig on a 6 month old.  I doubt they make eatable wigs

IMG_8426

Look at Raelynn looks up at Lilly, she adores her so much

This is how we trick or treat (the wagon kind of looks like a “big red wood box” right?)  Oh and of course Tigger came for the ride. Raelynn lasted a whole 20 minutes in the bumbo seat in the wagon before she cried asked us very nicely to be held.

IMG_8463

The only picture I got of Lilly trick or treating..oops

We had a wonderful time trick or treating, Lilly got lots of candy Raelynn even got some too.  I had a lady ask me if the baby wanted some starbursts..haha, I have no clue what she was thinking Lilly hasn’t even had chewy candy like that and she’s two and a half, maybe she didn’t have kids!

Raelynn and her many faces

Raelynn is a funny funny baby, she makes me smile and laugh all the time.  I took a bunch of pictures of her in her swing the other day take a look..

Water Beads

I have been seeing a lot of posts on pinterest with sensory bottles, trays and other fun things for toddlers.  I ran across one with something called water beads and they looked like a lot of fun.  I should put a disclaimer here, I’m pretty sure there are water beads made especially for toddlers, but I used the beads from the floral section at Wal-mart. Yes they are a choking hazard, but I told Lilly not to put them in her mouth and sat with her while she was playing with them.

 IMG_8106

Lilly playing with the beads about an hour after we put them in the water

Little hands

IMG_8129

There are 4 beads in this little green bowl, I kept them separate to remind Lilly how little they were when we started.

IMG_8137

It looks like pink water in the bowl until you put your hand in and find beads

 IMG_8156

The next day, Lilly was comparing the size of the beads compared to the day before

IMG_8163

Look at how big they are!

IMG_8159

I didn’t take any water out of the bowl, those beads absorbed all of it (about 2 quarts).

This was a very fun experiment, Lilly thought it was really neat to see how big they grew in a day.  I even caught myself playing with the beads a little while Lilly was at school :)
