With the warmer weather here, we decided to blow up the baby pool and go for a swim. We spished, we splashed and we had a ball! It’s nice to know that Lilly likes the water as much as I do, and she is turning into a little fishy! She didn’t quite understand the idea of kicking her feet, but she enjoyed lots of splashing!

1st Birthday Bubble Party Success!!
This past Saturday we packed our house with lots of friends and family to celebrate a BIG accomplishment…we made it through Lilly’s 1st year! Yay!! We had a bubble party, with bubbles, balls, a bubble machine, some round food and even a bubble cake! Although a lot of the guests did not really see “circles” like I did, but it was fun to plan. On the menu was fruit salad with melon balls, meatballs a la bbq sauce, a cheese ball, deviled eggs and pasta salad with wagon wheel pasta, cherry tomatoes, black olives and mini pepperonis. Ok so maybe I went a tad over board but I love the idea of a themed party. I also went out on a limb and made the cake myself. Twelve hours of cooking and decorating, and about 3 major meltdowns made a beautiful cake if I must say so myself!
Ok so here begins the picture overload **you have been warned**
Momma also thinks that the party is not complete without an outfit change!
Mike and I had a lengthy conversation later that evening about how great Lilly was, she did not mind being held by people she had never met before. And if you know Lilly that is an amazing feat! She even reached out for a few of our friends. I must apologize to everyone who came though, we totally intended on opening presents, but Lilly partied so much she couldn’t even stay awake for the last 30 minutes of her party. I promise that Lilly loves all of her gifts and has been playing with and wearing all of them!
We had a wonderful time with all of our friends and family, and cannot wait to do it again next year!

One year ago yesterday..
I was three days past my due day and giving Lilly and eviction notice. She made herself too comfy and too big! On April 7th, 2009 I went to the doctor for a baby weight check and was told that our bundle of joy was expected to be close to 9 lbs!!!! That news led us to an induction! We went to the hospital at 6:30pm to start the process. Fast forward past a long sleepless night to 5:00am April 8th, Pitocin was started. Then fast forward again to later that day past a lot of pain, water breaking, epidural, sleeping, pushing for 2 hours to 8:05pm, April 8th 2009. After trying to push Lilly who “sunny side up” (facing up instead of down) for 2 long hours, we all decided a c-section would be best and our beautiful baby was born! A whopping 7 lbs 12 ounces, not nearly as big as expected, but big enough and perfect in every way.
And now present day, my big one year old woke up to a car in her room!!! Nope not a real car, but a little tikes cozy coupe. I wish I could have seen her face when she first stood up in her crib and saw a big red and yellow thing in front of her. After a push around the house, we had a yummy pancake breakfast and then it was time to play!
Before she figured out which was was forward, She figured out how to open and close the door.
Arms up
Cutie pie!
