Swimming in the tub

Last week I asked Mike to give Lilly a bath so I could fold some laundry. Lilly normally takes a bath in her bathroom in the normal sized tub, no bubbles and a couple of toys.  Daddy put Momma’s normal bath routine to SHAME!  It took me a minute to figure out what was going on when I saw Mike walking from the girl’s bathroom to our bathroom with all of Lilly’s bath toys.  Moments later I hear our big tub filling with water.

Look at all that water!

This is Lilly’s “piggy duck”  it’s a pink rubber ducky with a big nose and ears.  I’m not really sure what they company was thinking when they made it but Lilly loves it!

After this awesome bath night I’m very surprised Lilly has not asked to “swim” in our tub again.

“Hey that’s not where I left you” II

We have a rolly polly baby now! She won’t stay still for anything.  If you put her on the floor she will barrel roll all around.  The other day I put her on her play mat, sat on the couch leaned over to my left where my lap top sits to check something then felt a cold little hand on my leg.  Raelynn rolled over to me to say “hello momma!”  It actually scared the poop out of me, at first I didn’t know what was touching my leg.  It took maybe 10 seconds for her to roll over and grab me.

Little stinker!  She started off in the middle of that mat next to her.

Playing outside

I’m sharing these pictures in one post but they are from different days.

Lilly wanted me to write daddy a note!

Up, up and away! I wish I could say I thought of this myself, but I have to give credit to my obsession with pinterest for this one.

Lilly’s flower loot!  She collects flowers every time we go outside.

Action shots

Mike got behind the camera again during Lilly’s soccer practice last week…

We also took professional pictures so you may notice a costume change.

Another fun week of soccer in the books!

Lilly’s 2nd day of school

I promise I won’t do a post every time Lilly goes to school, I just wanted to share a few pictures of Lilly on her second day of school.  She picked out her own outfit, she did a great job as a model for Lilly Pie Creations..hehe!

Remember last week when I said Lilly refused to use the potty at school.  Well this week I prepared her and told her that she needed to listen to her teachers when they told her it was time to go potty.  She did listen the first time, then she fell in the potty.  Yup you read that right she fell in the potty!! Her teacher set her up on the potty and turned around to help the next kid and she fell in, Lilly now claims the prize as the first kid to fall in the potty in her class. Her teacher said that she has never had a kid fall in the potty in her class before.  She also said, she knows now to hold Lilly when she sits on the potty.  I honestly think it’s hilarious, of course my kid gets my clumsy gene (don’t worry Lilly you’re not the first person in our household to fall in the potty I promise).  Needless to say, she refused to go potty at school the rest of the day, and two weeks later she is still talking about falling in the potty at school!!

That’s not where I left you!

I’ve been saying this a lot lately, Raelynn is really starting to scoot and roll around more.  I put her on her play mat the other day and looked over at her a minute or two later and found this..

  IMG_7618

Rolly polly, Raelynn still hates tummy time, but is she puts herself there she is ok with it.

IMG_7624

Thumb sucker #2!  She has a little monkey tucked away under her shoulder like she is cuddling with it.  She is just so stinkin’ cute!

“Oh, hi Momma!”  She back on her back..how did she do that?

Yummy feet!

Organizing OCD

Have I mentioned that I love Pinterest??  Not only have I gotten tons of new recipes and great activities for the girls, I have also gotten some great new organizational ideas.  I keep running across “pins” with these beautiful weekly menu planners and dry erase boards for to do lists and other planning stuff.  I’m a huge planner and list maker so the idea of a craft that helped me stay organized made this crafty mommy a happy camper!

After lots of planning I decided on a weekly menu board for the kitchen and an area by the door to the garage to hold paper and a place to hang backpacks, purses and lunch boxes.  I’m super happy how it all turned out!

My helper

IMG_7528

This is just a plain old cork board, I used my favorite damask fabric, some adhesive spray and my cake icing spatula to make it look like this.

 IMG_7537

Clothes pins, fabric strips and DIY mod podge to make the clips

IMG_7580

I hot glued thumb tacks to the back of the clothes pins

IMG_7583

Finished product, there are 7 clothes pins to hold a meal for each day of the week. When I shop I make sure I get enough dinner for 7 meals each week, I don’t plan what day we eat them though.  Under that there’s a pocket for recipes and a pocket to hold the strips of paper with the meals printed on them.  I still need to get those printed out. And under it there are 2 more clothes pins to clip important things to, right now there is a McDonald’s monopoly piece for free medium french fries :)

Project #2

 IMG_7582

This is a 8”x10” picture frame that I put a piece of fabric in.  Now it’s a dry erase board!

IMG_7576

Heavy duty magnets for the magnet board

IMG_7588

I hot glued these clear decorative “marbles” to the magnets to make them look pretty

IMG_7586

Magnet board, I bought the magnet board and glued this fabric to it and used my handy cake icing spatula again to push the fabric under the frame.

IMG_7584

2 dry erase boards (picture frames) and one magnet board

IMG_7575

Hooks for the wall

IMG_7585

Here’s the prep work, I used the 3M picture hangers so I didn’t put a million holes in the wall.  I’m not very good at finding studs in the wall so I also used some anchors to attach a 1”x3” piece of wood to the wall for the hooks.

IMG_7591

Finished product! There are two dry erase boards (one blank and one with the days of the week) and a magnet board in the middle. Under that a 1”x3” piece of wood painted the same color as the wall with four hooks to hang stuff on.

In addition to all of this I had an extra 11”x14” frame that I put some pretty pink and white dumask fabric in to create a dry erase board for my Lilly Pie Creations work space.
