New Pictures and Mommy Group

Here are just a couple of my more recent picture of Miss Lilly:

Nope she didn't fall over and bonk her head..this is her new way of enjoying tummy time :) She starts out on her tummy on the boppy and slowly (slower than you'd expect) pushes herself forward until her forehead touches the couch, then she sits there and coos and giggles to herself. My only wish is that I got this on the video camera or at least got pictures of the progression.

Lilly in the bumbo seat for the first time, this is one of two "big girl" toys that I couldn't wait to use, the requirements are that she holds her head up on her own, which she does most of the time very well. Of course momma was there the whole time just in case her little neck got tired of holding those checks up. The next is the jumperoo, I think I'll wait a little longer on that one :)

A half smile, for some reason she won't let me take a picture of the big gummy open mouth smile

This is sleepy Lilly, you know as soon as that hand rests on the back of her head that its time for a nap, and on this day she decided to be super cute and suck her thumb!!

We also went today to take professional pictures of Lilly I can't wait until we can see them. I'm sure they turned out wonderfully, just like the maternity ones.

Also decided to go out on a limb yesterday and searched for a mommy group somewhere around here. I have been pretty bored lately while Mike is at work and I find myself watching a ton of t.v. So I found one, its for Mom's in Metairie which is pretty close to where we live and closer than BR. Of course I would love to go to BR and hang out with my mommy friends there but its just not feasible to do it a lot, with the price of gas. And if you know me well enough you know that I am an incredibly shy person, until you get to know me then I won't shut up. So I totally surprised myself when I signed up for the group :) I have been looking at their events and it seems like it will be a lot of fun. I'm actually looking forward to going and meeting new people and meeting other mom's that are like me hopefully! I'll keep you posted on how it all goes. Thats about it for now I'm sure I'll think of something fun to post tomorrow.

Lilly's first night in her own crib...

Last night was Lilly's first night in her crib!! She did wonderfully, the technology in our house did not. She had a bath then I nursed her for a little bit and read her a story..the normal bedtime routine, just in another room. The pink chair worked out just fine by the way. And then at 8:00 we put her down in her crib and she did her normal, cooing and talking to herself then she fell asleep. Of course I went into her room and checked on her about 200 times, but she was fine. I then went to bed around 10:00pm last night with the monitor on in our room. At around midnight Mike came to bed and woke me up asking me, "do you hear that?" And of course I did not because I was asleep! The monitor was picking up a mans voice and a ton of static. It totally creeped me out! I have complained about that stupid monitor since Lilly was born, it picks up static, feedback and now voices from other houses!! We decided to turn the monitor off and bring Lilly in our room for the rest of the night.

This is the devil monitor that we have now replaced!!

I went to babies r' us this morning to get another one...hopefully it works better than the last one :) Needless to say I"m very happy that my baby did great in her own room last night, but our stupid monitor had to ruin it!!

2 Month Stats

So we went to the Dr. today for Lillys 2 month check up, she now weighs 11 lbs and 14 oz and is 23 inches long. She got 4 shots today, and some cherry flavored tylenol. Of course they gave her the tylenol first and she loved it!! I guess breastmilk isn't nearly as yummy as cherry flavored anything :) She took to the first shot just fine (I think she was still smoozing over the cherry syrup! Then the next three got some pretty loud and short cries but she was done by the time daddy picked her up and gave her binky! Lilly is sleeping it off now and seems just fine, I hope she doesn't feel too bad later, but if she does I have some yummy cherry tylenol for her!

My Monkey

I am so happy that Mike and I decided to decorate Lilly's room with monkeys, here's why.....

As I lay in my crib fighting off sleep, I talk to my monkeys. "Hey you monkey come down here and play I'm bored and don't want to take a nap!"

Diaper changes are always fun because I have my monkey friend on the wall to talk to! I get so excited that I gurgle, giggle and kick my legs with excitement. We got the action shot to prove it. Momma thinks the monkey should go and play somewhere else for long enough to change my diaper!

Schedule

I've figured her out!! Well for now at least! Miss Lilly wakes up just about every day between 7:00 and 7:30am and we hang out in bed and play while Momma gets breakfast and coffee, unless Mike is off of work then we hang out on the couch and play. Then, normally around 9:00 she goes down for an hour long nap, and I get a chance to pick up the house and check my email. Then she's up again around 10:00 and then we play some more, then around 11:30 she's ready for another hour nap and I get to walk on the treadmill and shower. Around 12:30 she wakes up yet again and it's play time again until 2:00...then it's...take a wild guess...nap time again! This time she normally sleeps until 4:30 or 5:00, I have not figured out why this nap is so long but it is and I can get a nap while she naps! And then Mike and I normally struggle to keep her awake until 8:00 which normally fails and she gets a cat nap every here and there in her swing or bouncer. We have bath night every other night around 7:00 or 7:30. Then at 8:00...drum roll please...it's bed time!! Of course she eats every three hours like a champ during the day. She has only been waking up once a night around 3:30am to eat.

On a side note, I decided to take her out of the co-sleeper/positioner in her bassinet to get her used to the wide open spaces of her crib. (She sleeps great in it during the day, but I'm afraid she won't like it at night for some reason.) So she started out sleeping long ways in the bassinet like usual, then about halfway through the night I woke up and looked in on her and she has turned a full 90 degrees!! I repositioned her after she ate and then I woke up again with Mike when we was going to work and the wiggle worm did it again! Well as the schedule predicted Miss Lilly is up!

Big Girl Lilly, the Pink Chair and adventures at Mimi's

So I have been thinking lately that Lilly should go into her room soon, well mainly because she is only waking up once at night to nurse and she is getting close to the weight limit of her bassinet. Of course I don't want to admit that my little baby is now big enough to sleep in her own room all by herself at night..eek! Now I see why people buy video monitor..I think I may buy one :) But the point of the pink chair...I have the glidder in our room and want to keep it there because it is the easiest place to nurse her during the day, the couch is too squishy and as terrible as this sounds there is a t.v. in there and it helps during the marathon feeding sessions. So I didn't want to put her in her room without a chair so I can nurse her in there at night, I can't imagine walking all the way across our house in the middle of the night with a sleeping baby and then going back 30 minutes later. So I asked my mom with all of her extra furniture if she had a chair to donate to her grandbaby..and of course she did! And to top it all off, drum roll please, it's pink! So here are some pictures of "Big Girl Lilly" and her pink chair..I think it goes great in her room.
We took a trip to Mimi's house last week to wash clothes and take Miss Lilly shopping (gotta start them early). My mom has been working on Lilly's room at her house for a while now, and it's finally done! Here are some pictures of Lilly sleeping in her room at Mimi's house

Appliance/Household Stuff Rant

**WARNING** This is a rant and only a rant if it was a real post this warning would not have appeared at the beginning! HAHA ok now to begin...

We have had terrible appliance luck recently! First while we were in the hospital having Lilly our ice maker broke..not a really big deal in most places but here in LaPlace our water is not healthy so our filtered water ice maker is a life saver. Next our kitchen sink starts to leak..which got everything under the sink wet and our toilet started to run...our water is so bad it actually ate through the flap that holds the water in the tank. So we fixed the sink and the toilet but the ice maker is still on the fritz.

The next thing was the washer...I had a repair guy come out last week and charge us $85 to tell us that the transmission went out on it and to call an authorized maytag repair man. So I called the nearest repair center and they ordered the part and came out to fix the transmission today after many hand washed loads of nursing bras and baby clothes. The repair guy comes in and tells me...get this, it's not the transmission its the f'ing pump and they will have to order that part....oh and wait another week for it to get in! He did tell me that I can do little loads of laundry and the worst I can do to the washer is make the pump totally go out...so I decided to put the pump to the test and I am now on load number two...it's as loud as a jet plane but it works! I also decided to call the first repair company and demand my $85 because they were wrong and have cost me another week of no washer.

Yesterday we had an issue with our breaker box, it blew the fuse that the refrigerator was on so we had to steal a fuse from the front porch lights so all of our food would not go bad. So now I'm on a search for a fuse to replace the borrowed one.

And while we were "borrowing" the fuse...we messed up the surge protector that the t.v., xbox, cable box, and surround sound is hooked up to. Needless to say I thought we killed our very pricey surround sound...but we didn't we just blew out the plug it was plugged into.

You know the saying when it rains it pours...yeah our house is under a flash flood warning...and I hope it stops pouring on us soon. I don't want to spend any more money on fixing/replacing parts to appliance and household stuff!
If you read this far don't say I didn't warn you it was a total rant, but I feel much better getting it off my chest!
